A high-clearance vehicle is recommended, and some brush clearing may be needed each spring. No bridges or major water crossings are on the route – the road approach is on the west side of Cedar Creek (avoiding any big washouts). Driving time from Superior (town) to the claim is roughly 1 hour.
The access is on public land (Lolo National Forest), so no permission is needed to use the road, though coordination with the Forest Service is advised if improving it. Within the Oregon Gulch Project claims, a couple of old spur trails allow entry to different parts of the Big Flat.. Mobilization of small excavators, pumps, and camp trailers to the most locations is quite feasible.
